John Petropoulos, founder of Petrocasa Energy Inc. and 20+ year veteran in the oil and gas industry, most recently organized and headed up his successful Pangaea Land Services, the exclusive land and leasing agent for DDJET. DDJET is a unique Barnett Shale business venture originally made up of ExxonMobil and The Harding Company, and now owned by Chesapeake Energy Corporation. The DDJET project encompasses parts of Dallas, Denton, Johnson, Ellis, Tarrant, Navarro and Hill Counties in Texas.

John Petropoulos has more than two decades of experience in all aspects of prospecting, drilling and producing natural gas in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, and Oklahoma. He is the founder of two high-profile, proactive companies, Petrocasa Energy, Inc. and Pangaea Land Services, LLP, working with over 150 Landmen and offices located in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Marshall, TX as well as in Shreveport, LA.

Most recently, he is responsible for Harding leasing and land acquisition programs in surface sensitive and highly competitive, urban and rural extensions of the Barnett Shale natural gas play in North Central Texas. He has successfully administered joint operating agreements, exploration concessions, oil and gas sales contracts, pipeline and processing agreements, private financing, acquisitions, divestitures, and outside investor sales materials.

He is also responsible for the design and negotiation of surface use and access agreements for roads and pipelines, well placement, and well spacing in subdivisions in urban areas. Petropoulos was instrumental in pioneering the early development of the Barnett Shale in Tarrant, Parker, Ellis and Dallas Counties.

Petropoulos is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen; Fort Worth Landman Association; Geological Societies of Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston; American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Jeff Crook has been in the land industry since 2004 and has worked in Leasing/Acquisitions for both Petrocasa Energy and Pangaea Land Services since 2006. He is a second generation oil and gas professional that has extensive experience in the Leasing, Seismic, and Right-Of-Way fields. He has been responsible for the acquisition and completion of over 25,000 agreements in all of the above mentioned areas, and in multiple shale plays across the United States. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL) and a licensed Right-of-Way Agent. Prior to joining the land industry in 2004, Mr. Crook was a successful business owner in Southern Oklahoma, as well as working in the life/health insurance industry. Jeff attended the University of Central Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Karen Reid has been working in the land services industry in various capacities for over 15 years. Prior to joining Petrocasa Energy and Pangaea Land Services LLC in 2006, she was a Project Manager/Relocation Specialist for PHAROS Corporation from 1999-2005. Karen is a Senior Member (SR/WA) of the International Right-of-Way Association (IRWA), a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL), and is Relocation Assistance Certified (R/W-RAC). Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design from Brigham Young University in 1990, her Legal Assistant Associate of Technical Arts Degree from Edmonds Community College in 1996, and her Juris Doctorate Degree from Seattle University School of Law in 2003. Karen is licensed to practice law in the State of Washington.

 

Scott Beckmen, Esq.

Scott Beckmen has worked on Title Projects for Petrocasa since 2008, and for Pangaea Land since October 2007. In 2008, Scott orchestrated a successful Due Diligence project on a possible Joint Venture for two major companies. Additionally, Scott coordinated 50+ contractors on two successful projects in the Haynesville Shale. In 2009, Scott has overseen the settlement and conclusion of several litigations in the East Texas region. Prior to joining Petrocasa and Pangaea, Scott served as a judicial intern in the Oklahoma State District Court handling Oil & Gas cases, and as a legal intern for British Telecom in London where he assisted in multi-national contract negotiations. Scott received his B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2004, where he was a letterman on the Men’s Track & Field team. Scott received his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in December 2006. Scott is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.

Dan Cherkassky works on title projects for Petrocasa Energy. While working for both Pangaea Land Services and Petrocasa Energy he has worked in researching mineral/royalty ownership from sovereignty to present, as well as in the Roads Research Department.

Dan is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Texas. He grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. Dan received an undergraduate degree from Austin College in 2001, and his Juris Doctorate from The University of Arkansas School of Law in 2004.

 

Gail Scott

Researched property records in Title Plants and courthouses within Ellis and Tarrant Counties. Drafted stipulations. Reviewed well path title for subsequent attorney title opinions. Joe Barnes has over 13 years experience as a Landman. He has worked multiple basins and shale plays, including the Permian Basin, Woodbine, Austin Chalk, and Barnett Shale. Joe is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL). He graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communications in 1974 from Texas Tech University.

John Phillips has been working in Leasing for Petrocasa Energy and Pangaea Land Services from 2007-Present. Since 2007, Phillips has been working mostly with Petrocasa Energy to develop urban leasing prospects in Tarrant County. Working in a highly competitive leasing environment, John has been able, with the help of an amazing group of landmen, to form up some of the first drillable units in the North Richland Hills, Keller, and Hurst area. Born and raised in Archer City, TX, John graduated from Texas Tech University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in English. John is an active member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen (AAPL) and the Fort Worth Association of Petroleum Landmen (FWAPL). John is also licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance as a property and casualty insurance adjustor. He is currently pursuing his real estate license as well as his RL certification with the AAPL.
